2024 Recipient of the Michael T. Meltzer Humanitarian Award
Honorees for Maya's Hope Lotus Ball 2024 - Philippe and Stephanie Dauman
We are delighted to introduce Philippe and Stephanie Dauman as the honored guests of the upcoming Maya's Hope Lotus Ball in 2024.
Philippe Dauman Jr. is the President and COO of PPD Investments, LLC, a private investment firm. He is also the Executive Vice President of The Philippe and Deborah Dauman Foundation, which supports charitable education and health initiatives. Philippe has spent the last 20 years building and investing in technology businesses. Previously, he co-founded Tray, a provider of self-service checkout technology. Before that, he was Director of Commerce at Twitter, where he built Twitter’s Commerce specialty. In 2010, Philippe helped launch Google’s newly formed Commerce Business Unit and bring to market the first smartphone tap-to-pay product in the United States. He went on to become Head of Partnerships for Google Wallet Instant Buy, where he was responsible for growing what is now Google Pay. Prior to joining Google's Commerce Team, he was the global coordinator for local content acquisition, responsible for improving coverage of Google’s local search and map results worldwide. Philippe holds a JD/MBA from Columbia and a BA from Yale.
Stephanie Dauman is a New York-based actress with credits that include independent films, TV movies, network television, and New York theater. She received her B.A. in Political Science from Vanderbilt University’s College of Arts and Science and studied theater and vocal performance extensively while there. As a member of the Board of Directors of the Inheritance Theater Project, she is passionate about the power of playmaking to help to bridge silos and thaw division in local communities. She is an active member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church and a participant in the non-profit community, including serving on Hope for New York’s Community Grants Circle.
Philippe and Stephanie live in Manhattan with their two young children and have been staunch supporters of Maya’s Hope’s charitable mission for over ten years.

The Michael T. Meltzer Humanitarian Award is named after Michael T. Meltzer, who helped found Maya’s Hope in 2010. The award was created in 2018 to acknowledge the efforts, dedication, and service of extraordinary individuals making an impact on the lives of children around the world.
